We responded to a call about a small dog that had been seen in the residential area of Woodland Hills Road in Erin, TN. She had been seen roaming the area for about three weeks, and looked to have had puppies recently. The puppies could not be located at that time. Last night we received a call that the momma had led the resident to her puppies. We raced over to pick them up. The mom, who we now call Sissie, has 4 puppies. She is battling a ragging skin condition, is covered in fleas, and is underweight. Her 4 puppies appear to be healthy, but they are covered in fleas as well. We will be taking them all to the vet today for a wellness checkup. We would like you to meet Sissie (mom), Trixie (brown and white female puppy), Oreo (black and white male puppy), Lila (white with black spot by eye female puppy), and Buckley (white with black spot on back male puppy). They will be on a three day hold to see if an owner can be located. The puppies appear to be 3 to 4 weeks old. Sissie will need medicated baths to help with her skin condition, and the puppies will need to be weaned prior to adoptions. Once the puppies are 8 weeks old, they will be available for adoption.
